The patron of Pignataro Maggiore is Saint George the Martyr, celebrated on the first Sunday of June in the Church of San Giorgio Martire.
The town's other parishes also have their own patronal feasts: Saint Vitus the Martyr and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart of Jesus are patrons of the Partignano hamlet, while Our Lady of Sorrows is patron of the Rarone district, also known as Gradone. The town also holds the Mother Church of Santa Maria della Misericordia and the grotta dei Santi cave.
