Trentola Ducenta

Province: Caserta · Region: Campania · Population: 17,797 · Postal code: 81038

The two names are two measurements. Ducenta was an estate of two hundred iugera, Trentola of three hundred: that, most probably, is where the names come from. They became a single comune only in 1929, when Ducenta was detached from Lusciano and assigned to Trentola.

In the mother church of San Michele Arcangelo, where the saint is venerated because of several apparitions, there are a seventeenth-century wooden statue of the Florentine school and a triptych by Protasio Crivelli. At Ducenta, in the church of San Giorgio, an image of the saint dated 1573 is by Giovanni Battista Graziano, who for years was mistaken for Marco Pino da Siena. There are 17,797 residents.
