Casoria

Province: Naples · Region: Campania · Population: 78,647 · Postal code: 80026

In the heart of the hinterland north of Naples, Casoria is one of Italy's densest towns: a farming village turned twentieth-century industrial hub, now living the transition of the whole metropolitan area. Its name remains tied to Saint Ludovico da Casoria, the nineteenth-century friar of charity canonised in 2014, and to the old-town churches that recall the ancient farmstead it grew from.

For travellers it is above all a position: Naples, Capodichino airport, Vesuvius and the Phlegraean coast are all a quarter of an hour away. A no-frills base with the regional metro at hand.
