The patron of Torre Annunziata is Our Lady of the Snow, celebrated on 22 October with the votive feast established in memory of the 1822 vow, when the population carried the Madonna's image before the lava flow of Vesuvius and it came to a halt.
The origins of the devotion date back to 5 August 1354, when local fishermen found the image in their fishing nets near the rock of Rovigliano.
