The patron saint of Pontecagnano Faiano is Saint Benedict, celebrated on 11 July.
The saint, depicted wearing a red habit with a pastoral staff in his left hand, appears on the town's coat of arms, divided with the three-arched bridge over a river that gives the town its name, and the motto «Durantes vincunt». In the hamlet of Faiano, at the end of the 18th century, the church of San Benedetto was built and dedicated to him. The municipal territory also holds the important Pontecagnano Archaeological Park and its National Archaeological Museum.
