The patron of Santa Sofia is Saint Lucy of Syracuse, celebrated on 13 December in the Church of Santa Lucia with the traditional Fiera di santa Lucia fair.
The town also hosts other annual traditions: the Easter Monday fair and, in autumn, the Premio Campigna, a modern art prize established in 1955. The town also holds the Vero Stoppioni art gallery and the Rocca di Spinello.
