The patron of Montecreto is Saint John the Baptist, celebrated on 24 June; the municipality holds the Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista.
Among the most important village feasts is the Palio degli Asini (donkey palio), held on one of the first Sundays of summer: the inhabitants split into six contrade ready to battle for the palio depicting the Madonna del Trogolino. In the Parco dei Castagni the Festa della Birra (beer festival) is held in August and the Festa della Castagna (chestnut festival) on the last weekend of October.
