The patron saint of Spilamberto is Saint John the Baptist, celebrated on 24 June in the Church of San Giovanni Battista.
Every year, during the week of the Saint John's fair, which includes the patronal feast, the Consorteria organizes the Palio di San Giovanni, also known as the Palio of Modena's Traditional Balsamic Vinegar, a distinctive and unique competition. The winner, besides an excellent vinegar, earns the privilege of the fire-branding of the barrel the vinegar was drawn from. The town holds the Castello Rangoni and the church of the Beata Vergine del Carmine.
