The patron saint of Bellaria-Igea Marina is Saint Apollonia, celebrated on 9 February.
The Palio dei Saraceni is a historical event in period costume re-enacting the landing of over three hundred performers from ten historic boats at the canal port, on the Bellaria side, with a procession that then winds through the town's main streets. Since 1983, the Bellaria Film Festival has also been held, an event dedicated to Italian independent cinema, while since 1998, annually in the second half of May, the Congress Centre hosts Starcon, a science fiction convention. The town also holds the Castello Benelli and the Shell Museum.
