The border has moved across it more than once. Having joined the Kingdom of Italy at the end of the First World War, in 1923 it added del Collio to its name and in 1928 took over the neighbouring comune of Cosbana. Then, in 1947, the Treaty of Paris made it cede to Yugoslavia almost all of that newly acquired territory, save two hamlets, and two of its own besides: those lands are today in the Slovenian comune of Brda. Its coat of arms was remade in 1983 precisely because the comune was no longer what it had been.

On the arms there is a goose quill, and it is for Pietro Zorutti, the poet who wrote in Friulian, born here in 1792 in the villa of Lonzano: in his verse autobiography he says he came into the world in ciase di Frisacc, in the Frisacco house. Above the Judrio stands instead the castle of Trussio, which enters the records in 1257 because that year its lord abandoned it and it was burned down, and he rebuilt it at once. It was destroyed again in 1511: of the old one two towers and the walls remain.
