The patrons of Nimis are Saints Gervasius and Protasius, celebrated on 19 June in the Pieve dei Santi Gervasio e Protasio.
The town lives a full year of festivals: on 1 and 2 August the hamlet of Monteprato, in the foothills of the Julian Prealps, hosts the Festa degli Uomini (Men's Festival), known across the region; from 1 to 8 September comes the feast of the Madonna delle Pianelle, also called the Ottavario; on 25 July, the sagra di San Giacomo at Cergneu. In February or March, the Carnival of Nimis fills the town with a parade of allegorical floats and the ritual freeing of the Pust. The town also holds the Castello di Cergneu.
