The patron saint of Roccasecca is Saint Peter Martyr, celebrated on the third Sunday of August.
The town was the birthplace, between 1224 and 1225, of Thomas Aquinas, a Dominican friar and the leading figure of medieval Scholasticism, already called «Doctor Angelicus» by his contemporaries. He was canonised by Pope John XXII in 1323, counted among the Doctors of the Church since 1567, and declared patron of universities and Catholic centres of study in 1880. The town holds the Castle of the Counts of Aquino and the Monte Asprano Archaeological Park.
