The patron saint of Formia is Saint Erasmus, bishop and martyr, celebrated on 2 June: in the borough that bears his name stands the church dedicated to him, where the traditional procession in his honour is held every year.
In the seafaring district of Mola, marked by the imposing cylindrical tower surviving from the old fortifications, on 24 June the feast and procession of Saints John the Baptist and Lawrence are held: the latter was the district's protector before the cult of the Baptist took root there in later times, and now shares his feast day.
