The patron of Maenza is Saint Eleutherius, celebrated on 29 May. Two statues of him are found in the town, one in the parish of Santa Maria Assunta in Cielo and another in the church of Santa Reparata.
The feast begins with a novena on 20 May, retracing the most important stages of the martyr's life over nine days; on 28 May, a procession is held from the town into the countryside. The town overlooks Monte Sentinella and holds the Shrine of San Luca.
