The patron saint of Ciampino is the Sacred Heart of Jesus, celebrated on the Friday of the third week after Pentecost in the church dedicated to him.
The town's religious calendar includes numerous other occasions: the feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Rosary is celebrated on the third weekend of May, while that of Saint John the Baptist is held on the weekend closest to 24 June. The Festa del Cipollaro, named after the district south of Ciampino where it takes place, enlivens the first week of September every year instead. The town also hosts, with the unveiling of a monumental work, the celebrations for the International Day of Peace.
