The bell tower of the parish church of Endine was not born a bell tower: inside it is the tower of the castle, swallowed whole. Of the rest of the fortification, already mentioned in a document of 1032, there remain pieces walled into houses built in later centuries. Endine and Gaiano stood where the Val Cavallina ends and the Val Camonica begins, that is at a passage anyone wishing to command the valley had an interest in holding: Guelphs and Ghibellines fought long over it, and the matter closed only with the arrival of the Republic of Venice in the fifteenth century.

One of the hamlets was called Figadelli. In 1925 it became San Felice al Lago and in 1928 it was joined to Endine Gaiano, which today has three thousand five hundred and nineteen inhabitants in the province of Bergamo. In the parish church of San Giorgio, on an altar to the right, is a wooden statue showing Saint Remigius baptising Clovis, king of the Franks: an unusual subject to find in a Bergamo valley. The church of San Remigio on the lakeshore was instead enlarged in thanksgiving after the plague of 1630.
