Ghisalba also celebrates Our Lady of Consolation, on 14 August: the shrine on Via Cossali was built by Ghisalba's citizens to commemorate the apparition of the Madonna, according to local tradition.
Every year, during the celebrations, the shrine is visited by thousands of people, who accompany the services in prayer; the main mass on the day of the apparition is celebrated by an important prelate, usually a bishop. In the nine days before, the novena is celebrated, with a mass at 8:30 pm, while throughout the festival period, stalls and carousels line the shrine's street, drawing many visitors.
