The patron of Vertova is Saint Mark, celebrated on 25 April with the Fiera di San Marco: on the saint's day, the town's streets fill with stalls of every kind, and near the former station there are carousels for children's entertainment, drawing people from neighbouring towns as well.
Since the 1990s, in early September, the former station has hosted the Festa della vita, a four- or five-day event organized by Vertova's volunteers with the Paolo Belli association in support of the fight against leukaemia, with proceeds going to research. The town also holds the Church of Santa Maria Assunta.
