In the sanctuary of Paitone there is a canvas by Moretto that tells of an apparition without putting a single piece of one into it: the Apparition of the Madonna to the deaf-mute Filippo Viotti has always been praised for exactly that, because it paints the miracle with concreteness, without clouds, without angels, without supernatural light. The sanctuary was begun in 1534, two years after the apparition that tradition places here, and it has never stopped being a place of devotion since.

For the rest, the village has a coat of arms that no decree ever granted: it took one for itself, in 1909, borrowing the emblem of the Paitoni, the family that owned the land between here and Nuvolento. The parish church of Santa Giulia was consecrated in 1921, and in the square stands an iron sculpture six metres high, the Tree of Desire. From 1881 to 1931, meanwhile, the tram between Brescia, Salò and Gargnano ran along the road that crosses the village, and Paitone had its own stop.
