In the pastoral visit of 1582 the men of Charles Borromeo noted that the chapel of Vegno was so low that a person three arms tall could touch the ceiling with their fingers: it was rebuilt soon after, and it is the oratory of San Giovanni Battista, with a Crucifixion frescoed in the early seventeenth century.

The parish church is dedicated to Saint Anthony the Abbot, but in the village they call it the church «del purcel»: the beasts of the stable were placed under the saint's protection. Crandola sits on a natural terrace at the foot of monte Cimone; between 1928 and 1957 it was a hamlet of Margno, and when it became a municipality again it added the name of the valley to its own.
