Sirtori celebrates Saints Nabor and Felix on 12 July, in the church dedicated to them.
In the park of Villa Besana, at Sirtori, grows the tallest tree in Italy. The villa is of the sixteenth century and stands on the hills of the Merate country, in a municipality with few hectares and many trees: the territory falls within the regional park of Montevecchia and the Curone valley. In the villa complex there is also the oratory of the Beata Vergine Assunta, of 1686, built perhaps in place of a house of worship already mentioned in a document of Pope Alexander III.
The village is attested in 865 under the name Sirtores, and the family that today makes one think of a surname arrived much later: only in 1647 did Philip IV of Spain grant the fief to the family of Evangelista Sirtori. Of the older past there remain the ruins of the tower of Sirtori and the castle of Crippa, built in the fifteenth century as the stronghold of the village and later turned into Villa Borromeo. In 1928 Sirtori was merged with Barzanò and regained its autonomy in 1953. Two thousand nine hundred and twenty inhabitants in the province of Lecco.
