Corsico was born on working water: the Naviglio Grande has crossed it for eight centuries, its banks once busy with barges of sand and goods bound for Milan's dock. The old quarter of the "curt" — Lombard courtyards — keeps the parish church of Saints Peter and Paul and trattorias with an urban-riviera flavour.
Today it is a dense, multi-ethnic belt town, the canal cycle path reaching Milan's nightlife in twenty minutes or, the other way, the Gaggiano countryside. On Saturdays the canal remains the drawing room: water, bicycles and the aperitivo of a happy periphery.
