The patron saints of Carnate are Saint Cornelius and Saint Cyprian, celebrated on the Sunday after Easter in the Church of Santi Cornelio e Cipriano.
Father Banfo is credited with instituting numerous feast days, including the feast of the Madonna de Carnà, celebrated precisely on the Sunday after Easter and also known as Festa de Carnà. Taking part in the sacraments, visiting the church and the altar of the Madonna del Carmine, and joining the procession allowed the faithful to gain indulgences. During these feasts, and especially that of the Sunday after Easter, a market was held on the church square along with entertainment: on these occasions as many as fifteen thousand people would gather in Carnate. The town also holds the Oratory of Santa Croce at Passirano.
