The history of Agra can be read in the counting of its people. In 1751 there were four hundred and forty; the first town council was elected in 1821; the highest figure came in 1901, with eight hundred and fifty-four. Today there are fewer than half as many. In between the village had even grown, by taking in nearby Cossano.

The church of Sant'Eusebio is old, but what one sees was rebuilt in the thirties. Outside the village is the Parco Daini, a large enclosure where fallow deer and goats graze. And in autumn comes the feast of the pumpkin and the chestnut: the lanes of the old centre turn into a market, selling almost nothing but what those two things yield.
