Saint Donatus, patron of the land of the Accordion Museum
📅 Every year, on the second Sunday of August
Robilante celebrates Saint Donatus on the second Sunday of August, in the church dedicated to him.
Wayside pillars are scattered all over the village, and one of them keeps a record: the pilone del Moro recalls the driving out of the Saracens in 985, after they had overrun the villages of the Vermenagna valley in 904.
The other thing Robilante carries with it is the accordion. The local museum shows how one is built, piece by piece, and holds together two men from here: Giuseppe Vallauri, who played and made them and was Notou Sounadour to everyone, and the carver Giorgio Bertaina, Jors de Snive, whose figures were players, grazing animals and soldiers.
