The patron saints of Villar Dora are Saint Roch and Saints Vincent and Anastasius, celebrated on 16 August.
Legend holds that in the Middle Ages Saint Roch, a pilgrim of French origin, passed through the Susa Valley on his way to Rome. The patronal feast dedicated to him, celebrated on 16 August, is the most important of the year and anciently had an apotropaic meaning against recurring plague epidemics; the church of San Rocco itself dates back to the 17th century. The feast traditionally spans three days, 15, 16 and 17 August, during which the town band walks through the streets and hamlets distributing «sonnets», short poems written in Piedmontese. The town also holds the Castello di Villar Dora and the Torre del Colle.
