The patron saints of Baveno are Saints Gervasius and Protasius, celebrated on 19 June in the Church of Santi Gervasio e Protasio.
The town hosted the Umberto Giordano Festival, born for the centenary of the first performance of Fedora (1898) and the fiftieth anniversary of the composer's death (1948), who spent long periods of work and holiday in Baveno; the festival ended its activities in 2014. The town is now home to an important Luthier Competition, a biennial event of international character that is gaining increasing prominence. The municipal territory also holds Villa Fedora and Villa Henfrey-Branca.
