The patroness of Capurso is the Madonna del Pozzo, venerated in the Basilica di Santa Maria del Pozzo and celebrated on the last Sunday of August: the patronal feast in her honour gathers a multitude of pilgrims.
The striking triduum begins the preceding Friday with the procession of the Virgin's painting, and culminates in the procession of the great candles. Saint Joseph is also celebrated on 19 March. The town also holds the Cappella del Pozzo and the mother church of Capurso.
