Saint Cataldus, patron of a town perhaps founded by a veteran of Scipio Africanus
📅 Every year, on 10 May
Corato celebrates Saint Cataldus on 10 May, held in a precious silver bust-reliquary; one tradition traces the town's name to Caius Oratus, a Roman veteran rewarded by Scipio Africanus after the conquest of Carthage.
