Laterza celebrates Our Lady Mater Domini on 20 May, in the sanctuary dedicated to her; in the summer months the town hosts the Festival della Terra delle Gravine, and since 2015 the MUMA, the Museum of Laterza Majolica.

The patroness of Laterza is Our Lady Mater Domini, celebrated on 20 May in the Sanctuary Mater Domini.

In the summer months, the town hosts the «Festival della Terra delle Gravine» cultural showcase. On 1 December 2015, the MUMA, the Museum of Laterza Majolica, was inaugurated. The municipal territory also holds the Marquis's Palace of Laterza and the church of Santa Maria la Grande, as well as the LIPU Oasis of Gravina di Laterza.
