The patron saint of Camastra is Saint Blaise, celebrated twice a year, on 3 February and 3 September.
The first church built in the town was that of the Santissimo Salvatore: alongside this sacred building stood at the time around forty houses, for a population that did not exceed sixty people. Already the census of 1713, however, recorded significant demographic growth, with more than 300 inhabitants living in about a hundred houses. Camastra also preserves the church of San Vincenzo, as well as the Castellazzo di Camastra and Monte Akragante, whose name recalls the ancient Akragas, today's Agrigento.
