In 1929, the Sicilian village of Camastra lost its administrative independence and was merged into neighboring Naro until 1946. Located 20 kilometers southeast of Agrigento and 100 kilometers from Palermo, this municipality today counts 2,163 inhabitants.
Occupying an area of 16.3 square kilometers, Camastra borders Licata, Naro, and Palma di Montechiaro. Its primary historic point of interest is the Castellazzo di Camastra, a ruined site set in the surrounding hills.
