Favara became a European case of rebirth: since 2010 the Farm Cultural Park has turned the Seven Courtyards of the old town into a laboratory of contemporary art, architecture and community drawing visitors and magazines from across the continent — an open-air gallery born where abandonment loomed. The thirteenth-century Chiaramonte castle guards the square.
At Easter the town sweetens with its lamb of almond paste and pistachio, pride of the local pastry shops. The Valley of the Temples is fifteen minutes away: Favara is the contemporary stop in Sicily's most ancient heart.
