Known in the Sicilian dialect as Muntallegru or Angiò, Montallegro is a municipality in the province of Agrigento with a population of 2,543 residents.
Situated 31 kilometres northwest of Agrigento and 128 kilometres south of Palermo, the town occupies a position in southern Sicily. Its territory directly borders the neighbouring municipalities of Cattolica Eraclea, Siculiana, and Agrigento.
