The PDO Ribera Orange — the blonde Washington navel grown between the Verdura and Magazzolo rivers — is sweet, seedless and peels by hand: the "queen of oranges" has turned this corner of the Agrigento province into a garden. From here too comes the tiny, intensely scented Ribera wild strawberry.
Between February and March the harvest colours the plain and fresh-squeezed juice in the town bars becomes a topic of conversation. Ribera is a Cittaslow town: the right pace for a land that measures time in fruit seasons.
