The patron of Villafranca Sicula is the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title «of the Myrtle», the Madonna del Mirto, celebrated on 31 May, at the close of the Marian month. Since May 2020, the town's main patron is no longer Saint Eucarpius the martyr, but precisely the Madonna del Mirto: a decision taken by the whole people, the parish priest and the mayor, made official by Archbishop Francesco Cardinal Montenegro. Saint Eucarpius remains, however, the town's secondary patron.
The town's main feast is instead held in the first week of August, when the miraculous painting of the Madonna del Mirto is displayed together with the statues of Saint Michael the Archangel and Saint John the Baptist.
