The patron of Montedoro is Our Lady of the Rosary, celebrated on the first Sunday of October, in a church dedicated to her in the town's historic centre.
Montedoro was once a mining centre tied to sulfur extraction, an activity that deeply marked the town's history and identity: this vocation is today recalled by the Angelo Petix Sulfur Mine Museum, part of a wider educational-scientific park in the town, standing not far from the local planetarium.
