In 1950, Fondachelli-Fantina gained municipal independence, separating from neighboring Novara di Sicilia. Located 73 kilometers from Messina, this scattered municipality of 1,090 residents sets its administrative seat in the village of Rubino, standing 604 meters above sea level.
The surrounding terrain spans the Peloritani and Nebrodi mountain ranges around the Patr"""ì stream valley.
