Saint Leo of Catania, patron of a barony passed from the Afflitto to the Ventimiglia family
📅 Every year, on 8 May
Sinagra celebrates Saint Leo of Catania on 8 May; the town, whose settlement was already assigned to the church of Messina in the 11th century, holds a church dedicated to the saint and a medieval castle ruled from the 16th century by the Afflitto family, who later ceded it to the Ventimiglia.
