The patroness of Santa Cristina Gela is Santa Cristina, celebrated on 24 July; the village holds the Chiesa Parrocchiale di Santa Cristina Gela.
The municipality also holds the Chiesa della Madonna di Scanzano, Pizzo Cervo and Pizzo Scupitteri. In the village, liturgical ceremonies in Byzantine rite, in the Albanian language or in ancient Greek, are celebrated according to ancient custom on the occasion of the pastoral visits of the eparch, which generally take place on 24 July, the day of the feast in honour of the patron saint. For the feast of San Giuseppe the statue of the saint is carried in procession through the streets in the evening; the feast is organised by the congregation of San Giuseppe, the oldest in the village, founded at the end of the 18th century.
