Long celebrated as the city of straw for its international hat-making industry, Signa sits roughly 12 kilometers west of Florence. Home to just over 17,400 residents, the municipality occupies a strategic riverside spot where the Bisenzio and Ombrone meet the Arno.
Despite its high population density, the town reserves a significant portion of its 18.87 square kilometers for nature, with the Parco dei Renai alone covering 2.70 square kilometers. For those interested in local heritage, the Church of San Giovanni Battista is a central landmark, preserving the remains of the revered Beata Giovanna.
