The patron of Scarlino is Saint Martin of Tours, celebrated on 11 November.
Every 19 August, the traditional costumed event known as the Carriere del 19 is held, re-enacting the celebrations for the end of the 1855 cholera epidemic: the town's three districts, Rocca, San Donato and Centro, parade through the town's streets. The town also holds Palazzo Guelfi and the Torre Civette, as well as the Rocca Pisana.
