The patron of Castiglione di Garfagnana is San Michele, celebrated on 29 September.
The most deeply felt festival, however, is that of the Madonna del Carmine, on the Sunday closest to 16 July: it takes place in the church of San Pietro and every three years the statue of the Madonna is carried in procession through the streets of the village. The municipality also holds the Chiesa dei Santi Michele e Pietro, the Chiesa di San Pietro, the Santuario dei Santi Pellegrino e Bianco, the Torrione dell'Orologio and the Porta Nuova.
