The patron saints of Montopoli in Val d'Arno are Saints Stephen and John the Evangelist, celebrated on 26 December in the Pieve dei Santi Giovanni Evangelista e Stefano.
On the second weekend of September, for 41 years, the Historical Reenactment and Archery Challenge has been held, organised by the Pro Loco tourist association under the patronage of the town council and associated with the Italian Federation of Historical Games; it is twinned with the Festa dell'Innamorata of Capoliveri. The town also holds the Tower and Arch of Castruccio Castracani and the Pieve di Santa Maria Novella.
