The patron saints of Montefranco are Saint Peter, celebrated on 29 April, and Saint Bernardino, celebrated on 20 May, with the church named after him at the heart of the town. Crossed by the state road 209 Valnerina, Montefranco was served, between 1909 and 1960, by the station in the locality of Fontechiaruccia, shared with the neighbouring town of Arrone, on the Terni-Ferentillo tramway: infrastructure built to ease the transport of goods and people along the Nera valley, crucial to its industrialisation.
The town also preserves the church of the Carmine and that of Santa Maria Assunta, as well as the Nera River Park and the Roman sanctuary of Monte Moro.
