At Danta, in the old Casa della Regola, there is a palaeontological museum put together by a local naturalist: inside are the complete skeleton of a baby dinosaur, a mammoth tusk, the skull of a cave bear, the footprints of a dimetrodon and, printed in the stone, the drops of a rain that fell 250 million years ago. Just outside the village lie the peat bogs of Danta.
The church of Santa Barbara, a little away from the centre, took the place of a small altar which the parish priest of Candide had built in 1702 to protect the village from lightning and fire. The building site of the new church opened in 1913 and the war stopped it: the building was left without a roof and was damaged because anti-aircraft posts were installed there. The altar was consecrated only in 1921. In 2007 the church was visited by Pope Benedict XVI.
