The patron saint of Spinea is Saint Frances of Rome, celebrated on 9 March.
The municipal territory, favoured by the dense presence of water resources including the Muson river, whose original bed is now occupied by the Cimetto stream, was a convenient route of communication with the Venetian Lagoon since ancient times. Among the main places of worship is the archpriestal church of Santi Vito e Modesto, whose bell tower was originally a 12th-century watchtower, while the area's oldest settlement had its religious and social reference point in the parish church of Santa Maria at Rossignago.
