On the evening of 8 July 1852, inside Villa Zannini, the poet and patriot Carlo Montanari was arrested: from there he went to trial and to a death sentence. The villa is eighteenth-century, with an ice house in the park and the Da Porto arms on the pediment, and the Mezzane stream running beside it.

The rest of Lavagno lies in small things: someone counted the votive shrines scattered across the district and came up with eleven crosses, twenty-eight niches dedicated to the Madonna and ten to the saints, some of them from the seventeenth century. On the hill of San Briccio, instead, stands an Italian army fort, built in the eighteen-eighties on top of a fifteenth-century church.
