The patroness of Goriano Sicoli is Saint Gemma, known as Gemma Reclusa (the Recluse), protector of the town, celebrated on 11, 12 and 13 May every year; the municipality holds the Santuario di Santa Gemma.
The story of Saint Gemma arises and unfolds in the period of the county of Celano and of the noble Piccolomini family. Among the sites of its territory are the rock-cut Chiesa rupestre Madonna di Pietrabona, the Sirente-Velino Regional Natural Park and Monte Ventola.
