The patron of Popoli Terme is Saint Boniface, celebrated on 14 May with homage paid in the Church of San Francesco, where the urn of the saint's relics is kept, followed by a pilgrimage to the town's main churches.
The historic centre, divided into districts, comes alive in the Palio del Certame historical re-enactment, revived since 2005, in which the districts compete against one another. The town also holds the Taverna Ducale and the Church of the Addolorata.
